  1. Badge

From the recording Demo Tracks

"Badge" recorded by Cream, was written by Eric Clapton and George Harrison during a collaborative effort between Clapton, Harrison, and Ringo Starr. It was included as a track on the Cream album "Goodbye". Peaking at number 60 on Billboard's Hot 100, "Badge" was a minor hit in the U.S. after its release as a single in April 1969. However, the single was much more successful in the United Kingdom where it reached #18. "Badge" was originally an untitled track. George Harrison claimed that as he and Clapton were working across from each other and writing the lyrics down, he had scribbled "Bridge" next to the middle part. Clapton, while reading it upside down, cracked up laughing and asked "what's Badge?". Shortly after that, Ringo walked into the studio drunk and gave them the line about the swans living in the park, and the rest is rock and roll history.
